The Terminal Warehouse is located in Chelsea, one of New York’s most desirable residential and retail neighborhoods. Bordered by the Hudson River, Chelsea extends to Sixth Avenue and stretches from 15th Street to 34th Street. Chelsea is the art capital of New York, with over 200 galleries in the area. Trendy boutiques, neighborhood restaurants, and popular landmark attractions such as the Chelsea Piers and the Hudson River Park System have attracted affluent residents and diverse commercial tenants to the neighborhood. As the area of focus for several expansion projects and redevelopment plans, Chelsea’s residential and retail presence will continue to grow.
There are numerous transportation options in Chelsea for those who live and commute to the area. New York City MTA trains A, C, E, F, L, 1, 2, and 3 all have local and express stops through the neighborhood. The A, C, E line, the 8th Avenue line which starts in Queens and ends in eastern Brooklyn, stops on 14th Street, 23rd Street, and 34th Street. The 1, 2, 3 line, the 7th Avenue line which starts in the Bronx and ends in central Brooklyn, stops on 14th Street, 18th Street, 23rd Street, 28th Street, and 34th Street. The F, V line, the 6th Avenue line which starts in Queens and ends in lower Brooklyn, stops on 14th Street, 23rd Street, and 34th Street. The PATH train, which connects Manhattan and New Jersey with 240,000 riders daily also has stops on 14th Street, 23rd Street, and 34th Street.
New York City MTA buses M10, M11, and M23 all run through Chelsea as well. M23 bus goes cross-town on 23rd and directly to the Chelsea Piers with a stop at 24th Street and 11th Avenue. The M11 goes uptown on Tenth Avenue and downtown on Ninth Avenue. The M10 goes uptown on Eighth Avenue and downtown on Seventh Avenue.
Access to the Region's Core (ARC) - The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, New Jersey Transit and the federal government are debating plans to build a new $8 billion rail tunnel under the Hudson River, known as Access to the Region's Core (ARC) or the Trans-Hudson Express Tunnel (THE Tunnel). The project includes two new single-track rail tunnels and a new multilevel station under 34th Street which would connect to Penn Station.
No. 7 Line Extension On October 5, 2006, New York City and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority agreed on a $2.1 billion extension of the No. 7 train as part of the development of the MTA's rail yards on the West Side of Manhattan. The 1.5-mile extension of the No. 7 line will take the subway further west from its current finish point at Times Square and continue it along 41st Street and 11th Avenue, and then south to a new terminal at 34th Street and 11th Avenue. This new transportation hub will provide additional access to the property, and the extension of the No. 7 line will stimulate the economy of the area. It is scheduled to open in 2013.
